Moira Pujols

An experienced consultant

A Chicago-based interpreting and translation consultant and experienced nonprofit administrator, Moira is originally from the Dominican Republic. She has traveled the world in her twenty years as a conference interpreter, working in events ranging from executive meetings and corporate training seminars to summits and international conventions with 25,000 attendees.

As a court interpreter federally certified by the U.S. government, she has interpreted, translated, and served as expert witness in a wide array of criminal cases and civil litigation. Due to her vast experience, she was a rater for a national court interpreter credentialing program and conducted in-house professional development workshops for a multilingual staff of simultaneous interpreters.

She was co-founder and president of MATI, the Midwest chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA). For fifteen years she was executive director of Contratiempo, a nonprofit literary publishing and presenting organization. She is a member of AIIC, TAALS, and NAJIT.
